Denne helgen flyttet Tuppen hjemmefra. . Men sånn er det jo, man får barn, de vokser seg større og større og plutselig en dag er de borte. For studenten er jo alt nytt og spennende og ganske sikkert litt skummelt også, men for oss som blir igjen hjemme blir det nok mest trist og stille, selv om jeg er glad og stolt for at hun vil skaffe seg en utdannelse og er klar til å stå på egne ben.

På den rent praktiske siden vil vi jo fra nå av stort sett bli tre til bords når det er middag, og det tar sikkert litt tid å justere inn innkjøp og porsjonering når jeg lager mat fremover. Jeg regner med at det nok kan bli litt rester i tiden fremover med andre ord.

Som vanlig har jeg satt sammen en variert ukemeny med mye godt synes jeg. Hva med å begynne uken med et skikkelig digg vegetarmåltid med falafel, syltet rådkål, pitabrød og det du måtte ha av friske grønnsaker? Eller kanskje du har lyst til å prøve deg på en wok med reker og squash? Noe av det aller mest populære på bloggen i mange år er forskjellige gratenger, og denne uken har jeg plukket ut en gammel schlager av en karbonade og makaronigrateng. Er du i det litt mer internasjonale hjørnet, eller savner en solseng i Thailand, kan du lage tom ka gai, som er en deilig suppe med kylling og kokosmelk.

Ingen fredag uten pizza og denne uken foreslår jeg en hvit variant med steinsopp og parmaskinke. Skikkelig snadder den altså. Kanskje er du så heldig at du har funnet steinsopp i skogen også. Så vil jeg gjerne slå et slag for fisk som helgemat og da er jo lite bedre enn breiflabb. Her serverer jeg den med sesongens kantareller og agurk. Hjemme hos oss er en skikkelig søndagsmiddag obligatorisk og helstekt kylling er alltid populært. Bretter du ut kyllingen før du steker den er det lettere å få et godt resultat med jevnere stekt kylling.
