Siden midten av juni har vi ikke vært bortskjemt med for mange brennhete sommerdager. Men skulle det bli litt varmt i været og behovet for noe leskende, kan jeg anbefale denne søte bringebæreddiken. Litt av bringebæreddiken blandet ut i kaldt vann, gir en forbløffende forfriskende drikk med masse, men ikke ubehagelig, syre og tydelig bringebærsmak. Jeg vet ikke om dette har et norsk navn. På engelsk heter det shrub, og jeg har valgt å kalle det søt bringebæreddik.

Shrub har lang tradisjon i særlig USA som tørstedrikk.

Dette er en fin måte å bevare litt av sommeren på. Det er superenkelt å lage og ingrediensene får du på super’n, og/eller i skogen/hagen. Oppskriften er superenkel det er i hovedsak tre ingredienser og de blandes i utgangspunktet i forholdet 1:1:1. Jeg har valgt bringebær og litt sort pepper som smakstilsetning, men det er nesten ikke grenser for hva slags slags frukt eller bær som kan brukes.

Helseeffektene ved å innta eddikbaserte drikker skal visstnok være mange. Jeg nevner i fleng:

  • fremme vekttap
  • stabilisere blodsukkeret
  • lette fordøyelsen
  • senke kolesterolet
  • være betennelsesdempende

for å nevne bare noen. Jeg går overhodet ikke god for noen av disse påstandene, men konstaterer at det smaker riktig så godt. Og den syrlige drikken er virkelig velegnet til å slukke tørsten – det kan jeg gå god for.

Denne eddiken kan også  brukes til mer enn å drikke. Den er også super i dressinger og marinader.

Ingredienser

  • 5 dl bringebær
  • 1 ts grovt knuste pepperkorn
  • 5 dl eplesidereddik
  • 5 dl sukker

Fremgangsmåte

  • Steriliser et Norgesglass eller lignende.
  • Rens bringebærene godt og legg dem i glasset og knus bærene litt.
  • Tilsett pepperen.
  • Varm opp eddike og tilsett sukkeret. Rør til sukkeret er helt oppløst.
  • Hell eddikblandingen over bærene og fest lokket.
  • Så snart blandingen har blitt helt avkjølt, sett glasset i kjøleskapet i en uke.
  • Sil bærene av, og hell eddiken på flaske eller glass.
  • Oppbevar i kjøleskap.

Bruk denne søte bæreddiken til å lage deilige drikker. Bland ut ca. 1 ts i 2 dl kaldt vann, med eller uten bobler. Det er jo i grunnen ikke noe hinder for å tilsette noe slitt sterkere enn vann også...
