Det er den siste uken i november, og jeg forsøker fortsatt å holde julen litt på avstand. Derfor er det ingen julemat i denne ukemenyen. Men nå merker jeg at julen begynner å krype innpå meg. I byen er gatene og butikkvinduene julepyntet. Sosiale medier flommer over av juleting og julemat. Og jeg merker at det snart er på tide å komme i gang, slik at det ikke blir stress, men kos med juleforberedelsene.

De fleste har nok fått med seg at amerikanerne feirer Thanksgiving på torsdag. Da er kalkun like selvsagt på bordet der som ribbe eller pinnekjøtt på julaftene her. En hel kalkun på en hverdag, kan jo være litt voldsomt, derfor har jeg lagt kalkunmåltidet til helgen i stedet for en hverdag, for de som ønsker å være takknemlige, eller rett og slett har lyst på noe godt.  Dessuten foreslår jeg kalkunfilet i stedet for en hel fugl. En hel kalkun metter jo voldsomt mange mennekser, så med mindre du har et helt fotballag, er det nok med brystfileten.

Det er imidlertid ikke helt amerikanske tilstander her på bloggen. Så om du vil feire på torsdag, i helgen eller ikke i det hele tatt, finner du seks andre middagsforslag nedenfor også som altså ikke har noe verken med Thanksgiving eller jul å gjøre.  Ha en strålende uke, og vel bekomme.
