Jeg er veldig glad i supper, og på denne tiden av året vekkes interessen for alvor igjen hvert år. Derfor ble min interesse lynraskt vekket da jeg leste en oppskrift på «Roasted tomato soup» på «Smitten kitchen«. Det er en av mine favorittblogger som kan anbefales dersom du ikke allerede kjenner den. Oppskriften minnet meg om en tomatsuppe jeg en gang fikk servert hjemme hos en av venninnene til Tuppen for et par år siden. Den var kaftig og hadde en litt mer søtlig smak enn vanlig tomatsuppe. Dessuten var den litt tykkere. Hun som hadde laget suppen sa den var laget av bakte tomater. Suppen var veldig god, men gikk litt i glemmeboken, helt til jeg altså så denne oppskriften. Ved første anledning måtte jeg derfor prøve å lage min variant av oppskriften.

Dette er ikke akkurat fast food. Halvannen time for å lage tomatsuppe kan kanskje synes litt drøyt, men jeg synes absolutt det var verdt tiden. Dessuten er det liten innsats som skal til. Det meste av tiden passer den seg selv i ovnen eller i gryten. I tillegg brer det seg ganske raskt en aldeles nydelig duft i kjøkkenet. Dersom du ikke har tid til å lage denne varianten, kan du ta en titt på denne hurtigvarianten av tomatsuppe.

Mengden tomater kan nok også virke litt overveldende når de ligger på stekeplaten og skal inn i ovnen, men de krymper en god del etter en time i ovnen og det blir slett ikke så mye som man skulle tro. Når det gjelder mengdeberegning er det greit å beregne 1 kg tomater til to personer dersom det skal være middag, litt mindre dersom suppen bare skal være til kveldskos.

Ingredienser

  • 2 kg tomater
  • 6 store fedd hvitløk
  • Salt og pepper
  • 3 ss olivenolje
  • 2 l kyllingbuljong
  • 5 kvister timian
  • 1 ts paprikapulver

Fremgangsmåte

  • Sett ovnen på 200 grader. Dekk en stekeplate med aluminiumsfolie.
  • Pakk hvitløksfeddene med skall på inn i litt aluminiumsfolie og legg på stekebrettet.
  • Vask tomatene og skjær dem i to og legg dem på stekeplaten med snittflaten opp. Jeg tok hverken av skinnet eller fjernet stilkfestet.
  • Dryss over salt og pepper og drypp over olivenoljen og bak dem i ovnen sammen med hvitløksfeddene i ca. 1 time.
  • Ta tomatene ut av ovnen og ha dem og all eventuell kraft som har kommet ut) over i en gryte sammen med hvitløken (som er klemt ut av skallet).
  • Hell over kyllingbuljong og ha i paprika og timian og mos alt med en stavmikser.
  • Suppen trenger ikke være helt glatt, det er et smaksspørsmål.
  • Kok opp og la det koke i ca. 20 minutter.

Server rykende varm med ferskt brød.

Tips

Denne suppen er også glimrende å helle på termos og ta med på tur. Pakk også inn noen skiver med ost i aluminiumsfolie og legg på bålet, så er det strålende turmat.

Jeg elsker ovnsbakte tomater og bruker dem til mye. I gryter, salater, i pasta og som tomatsaus. Suppe har jeg imidlertid ikke prøvd ennå, men det ser jeg at jeg må gjøre noe med 🙂

Ja gjør det – det blir kjempegodt. Jeg elsker også tomater – i alle former. Og de ovnsbakte er i en særklasse fordi de blir så ekstra søte og konsentrerte i smaken av en tur i ovnen. 🙂
