Cobb salat er en amerikansk klassiker av det rause slaget, og som i mye amerikansk mat som blir populær er det mye av alt som er godt i denne salaten. Her er det både kylling, egg, bacon og ost  tillegg til litt grønnsaker,  mye snadder med andre ord. Og mettende er den definitivt. Dette er salaten for de som er redde for ikke å bli mette av en salat til middag.

Min versjon av Cobb salat er nokså standard. Men det er jo svært få regler innen matlaging som ikke kan brytes. Liker du ikke blåmuggost, bruk feta, da vel. Heller lyst på skinke – kjør på. Lite grønnsaker synes du, bruk flere forskjellige. Alt er lov. Det som er fint med denne salaten synes jeg, er at alt legges i sirlige rader slik at når man skal dele salaten med flere kan gjestene lett styre unna enkeltingredienser de kanskje ikke er så begeistret for.

Til Cobb salat har jeg valgt å lage en vinaigrette med sherryeddik. Den er litt mer robust og har en kraftigere egensmak enn vanlig vineddik, og gir derfor dressingen litt mer karakter. Det synes jeg passer godt til denne salaten som er såpass kraftig.

Ikke fordi man trenger det, men hvis du har lyst til å servere brød ved siden av, kan du jo bake en deilig focaccia.

Ingredienser

  • 400 gr kyllingfilet
  • 125 gr. bacon (1 pakke)
  • 4 egg
  • 100 gr Blå Selbu (eller annen blåmuggost)
  • 1 hode romanosalat
  • 200 gr cherrytomater
  • 2 avokado
  • 1/2 rødløk
  • ---
  • 1 toppet st dijonsennep
  • 1 fedd hakket hvitløk
  • 1 ss sherryeddik
  • 3 ss olivneolje (Ybarra, eller en annen mild variant)
  • salt og pepper

Fremgangsmåte

  • Krydre kyllingen godt med salt og pepper og stek den. Skjær i munnrette biter og sett til side.
  • Strimle baconet og stek det sprøtt. Ta ut av pannen og la det dryppe av på et kjøkkenpapir.
  • Kok eggene i 7-8 minutter. Avkjøl og del i båter.
  • Skjær salaten i strimler, tomatene i halve, avokadoen i skiver, løken i tynne båter og osten i små terninger.
  • Legg salaten på et serveringsfat og legg de øvrige ingrediensene i sirlige rader oppå.
  • Rør sammen finhakket hvitløk, dijonsennep og sherryeddik. Hell oljen oppi i en tynn stråle mens du pisker.

Server med dressingen ved siden av og gjerne med litt godt brød også, Vel bekomme.

Tips

Liker du ikke blåmuggost, går det fint å bruke fetaost eller chevre i stedet.
