SEPTEMBER – tenker du at paprika er en litt kjedelig grønnsak som bare egner seg som en enslig ring oppå gulostskiva eller kuttet opp i små biter til taco’en? Da synes jeg du skal tenke deg om på nytt, for paprika er en virkelig allsidig grønnsak som kan brukes til mye og på mange forskjellige måter. Paprika kan spises rå, stekes, kokes og bakes. Den er helt essensiell i noen retter og den er ypprlig å fylle med forskjellige godsaker. Lurer du fortsatt? Nedenfor har jeg samlet mine 5 beste oppskrifter med paprika.

 

Bakt paprika

Dette er nok den aller største favoritten hjemme hos oss. Etter en tur i ovnen endrer parikaen helt karakter. Den blir myk og søt, men fremdeles full av personlighet. Skåret opp i strimeler med bare litt god olivenolje, balsamico og flaksalt er dette en nydelig siderett til både kjøtt, fugl og fisk. Den bakte paprikaen kan også brukes som ingrediens i mange andre retter.

Ungarsk gulasj

Gulasj uten paprika er ikke rett og slett ikke gulasj. Og det skal masse med paprika til i denne retten, både fersk og i pulverform. Med store biter mørt oksekjøtt, potetbiter, masse paprika og en nydelig saus er dette en sikker vinner på en litt hustrig høst- eller vinterkveld.

Grillet tyrkisk paprika

Paprika egner seg også veldig godt på grillen. Disse små tyrkiske paprikaene er temmelig hotte og blir nydelige etter en omgang på grillen. De er fortsatt sterke, men har også fått en fin sødme. Med litt olivenolje og flaksalt er dette skikkelig digg tilbehør til grillmaten. Men det er ikke bare sånne paprikaer som egner seg for grilling, all slags paprika blir bedre på grillen, og vil du spice opp dagen din, kan du godt slenge noen chilier på grillennår du først er i gang.

Paprikadip med valnøtter

Man kan vel ikke få for mange dipper i livet sitt, vel? Det synes i hvert fall ikke jeg. Og denne er laget med bakte paprikaer og valnøtter og smaker helt nydelig både som dip til snack og grønnsaker, men fungerer også veldig bra som saus til kjøtt og fisk.

Fylte paprikaer

Sist, men ikke mindre en favoritt, er disse fylte paprikaene. De har deilig kjøttfyll og en solid ostedyne.  Denne oppskriften har hengt med meg i veldig mange år, og jeg har absolutt ikke tenkt å slutte med å lage den.

Fun fact

Paprikaen kommer opprinnelig fra Mellom-Amerika, og det var spanjolene som tok den med seg til Europa. Derfra har den spredd seg til hele verden. Det betyr altså at i asiatiske land, som vi kanskje forbinder med veldig sterk mat, fantes det ikke chili før på 1500-/1600 tallet.
