Januar. Denne måneden har jeg lyst til å løfte frem kålen. Det er kanskje ikke den grønnsaken folk flest tenker på som den mest spennende i grønnsakshyllene. Men begynner vi å tenke etter, så finnes det veldig mange forskjellige typer kål og utrolig mange måter å bruke den på. Kål har en lang tradisjon i Norge, men ikke bare her. Det er en populær grønnsak i store deler av verden. Her har jeg samlet mine 5 beste oppskrifter med kål, ikke så sexy synes du kanskje, men der er jeg ikke enig med deg. Se her da.

 

Kyllinggyoza med nykål

Gyoza er små japanske forundringspakker som smaker aldeles nydelig av ingefær, hvitløk og deilig kål og kylling. Kanskje litt fiklete å lage, men etter min mening absolutt verdt det. Dette er barmat på sitt beste, og vil du prøve det uten å lage det selv kan du stikke innom den japanske baren Izakaya i Oslo, der de serverer forskjellige småretter – blant annet gyoza.

Colcannon med savoykål og purre

Fra Japan hopper jeg raskt over til Irland og lager gjerne colcannon. Det er deilig rik og luftig potetstappe med kål og purre som først er stekt i smør og deretter vendt inn i stappen. Aldeles nydelig og passer både på egen hånd og som tilbehør til stekt og røkt kjøtt.

Italiensk salat

Jepp, det går fint å spise kål på brødskiva også. Dette pålegge lærte jeg å lage av farmoren min. Denne er like enkel som den er genial. Det er rett og slett finsnittet kål og biter med kokt skinke blandet sammen med en majonesdressing. Når kålen er ny, søt og svært sprø er dette verdens beste pålegg.

Spagetti med svartkål og bacon

Selvfølgelig er det en spagettioppskrift med. Både spagetti og kål er enkle, hverdagslige ingredienser og de kler hverandre svært godt. Sammen med litt bacon og sjampinjong er dette er deilig hverdagsrett som ganske kjapt kan slenges sammen og samtidig bli en veldig god middag.

Ovnsbakte rosenkål med honning og chili

Og til slutt en utrolig deilig måte å tilberede rosenkål på. Ovnsbaking av grønnsaker gjør noe helt magisk med dem. Det er som om smaken blir ekstra konsentrert og får en helt annen dybde enn dersom de kokes. Her har jeg i tillegg gitt dem en liten dose honning og chili også . Honningen gjør de små hodene litt ekstra søte og chilien gir dem et lite kick. Har du ikke prøvd dette før, synes jeg det bør stå på listen din over ting å prøve på kjøkkenet i januar.
