Her kommer nok en suppeoppskrift fra mitt kjøkken, denne gangen er det gul ertesuppe. Det er skikkelig varmende mat som samtidig metter godt. Det er ikke akkurat gjort i en håndvending å lage denne suppen, men den krever heller ikke mye arbeid. – bare tid. Ertene må legges i vann dagen før, og suppen må koke i timesvis. Faktisk synes jeg dette er en perfekt søndagsmiddag, for man kan sette suppen til koking og så kan man gjøre noe annet sammen med familien mens den godgjør seg på ovnen.

Oppskriften nedenfor er nok til åtte personer, eller til to middager, og det kommer godt med i en litt hektisk førjulstid med sølvpuss, gaveinnkjøp, juleavslutninger og alt annet som skal fikses i løpet av noen travle desemberdager. Da er det greit at middagen allerede er ferdig.

Ingredienser

  • 500 gr tørre gule erter
  • 1 saltet og røkt svineknoke
  • 2,5 liter vann
  • 1 laurbærblad
  • 1 gul løk
  • 1 ts tørket timian
  • 1 kvast frisk timian

Fremgangsmåte

  • Dag 1: Legg ertene i kaldt vann dagen i forveien. Hell ertene i en bolle og hell over rikelig med vann. Sjekk innimellom at vannet dekker ertene helt.
  • Dag 2: Hell kaldt vann i en stor kjele legg svinekonken og laurbærbladet i vannet.
  • Kok opp og la knoken trekke i vannet i 2-3 timer, eller til kjøttet løsner fra benet.
  • Ta kjøttet opp av kraften og avkjøl.
  • Hell bløtleggingsvannet av ertene og ha ertene i kraften.
  • La ertene koke i ca. 1 time.
  • Skjær kjøttet fra svineknoken i små biter og ha i suppen sammen med finhakket løk og timian.
  • La det koke i minst en halv time til.

Server rykende varm med flatbrød eller rundstykker til.
