REKLAME – Har du vært på ferie i Sørøst-Asia noen gang har du sikkert gått forbi drøssevis av små vogner med en liten grill på der en kar/dame står og griller små spyd med marinert kjøtt. De står på fortau, i trange smug, på parkeringsplasser etter i food courts og griller. Rundt dem brer de segt en herlig duft av grillkull og grillet kjøtt som fungerer som verdens beste reklame. Det er faktisk nesten umulig å gå forbi en sånn vogn der de selger satay med peanøttdip.

Satay er altså små grillspyd med kjøtt som marineres i soya og krydder og grilles over en glovarm og ofte primitiv kullgrill og så spises sammen med en peanøttdip laget med blant annet peanøttsmør og kokosmelk.

Det er ikke vanskelig å lage dette hjemme, selv om det neppe blir særlig autentisk. Men hey, det smaker godt, og det er vel det viktigste. Kombinert med gode reiseminner gjør det susen for meg i hvert fall. Det er jo den eneste måten man kan reise på for tiden, så da får det duge.

Nå som sommeren og godværet (fingre krysset) nærmere seg med stormskritt er det på tide å børste støv og evt. gammel moro av grillen og tenne den opp. Disse små grillspydene egner seg supert for grillfesten. Server som en liten forrett i stedet for de evinnelige ventepølsene, eller gå «all in» og lag en hel haug. Kanskje også noen av kylling også. Skulle du være så uheldig å ikke ha grillvær, går det fint an å steke dem i pannen eller under grillen i oven inne også. Ikke la været sette en stopper for å lage disse.

Ingredienser

  • 600 gr ytrefilet av svin
  • 2 ss kejap manis
  • 2 ss soyasaus
  • 1 fedd hvitløk, finhakket
  • 1 ts revet ingefær
  • 12 grillspyd
  • ---
  • 4 ss green choice cruchy peanøttsmør
  • 2 dl go-tan kokosmelk
  • 2 ss kejap manis
  • 2 ss soyasaus
  • 1 ss limejuice
  • 2 ts shriracha (eller så mye/lite du vil)

Fremgangsmåte

  • Legg grillspydene i vann i ca. 20 min.
  • Skjær kjøttet i små terninger (1x1 cm)
  • Træ kjøttet på grillspydene.
  • Bland kejap manis, soya, hvitløk og ingefær og pensle kjøttet.
  • Dekk til og sett kaldt i minst 30 min for marinering.
  • Lag dippen ved å varme peanøttsmøret i en liten gryte. Rør inn de øvrige ingrediensene til alt er godt blandet. Smak på dippen og juster smaken til den sitter etter din smak. Tilsett evt. mer kokosmelk om du ønsker en løsere konsistens.
  • Fyr opp grillen eller stek spydene i stekepanne. Pass godt på, for marinaden er søt og kan fort brenne seg, så snu dem ofte. De små kjøttbitene trenger uansett ikke lang tid på varmen. 3-4 minutter kan være nok.

Server satayspyd og dip straks og gjerne med thaimarinerte grønnsaker ved siden av.
