Da er sommerferien i boks, det blir Italia i år også. Det gleder jeg meg veldig til. Noe av det beste jeg vet er å «leke» italiensk husmor når vi er på ferie i Italia. Hver eneste morgen tusler jeg ned i butikken og handler det vi trenger til frokost og et vellykket strandbesøk. I den lille dagligvarebutikken har de sikkert 10 forskjellige tomatsorter og et stort utvalg herlig solmoden frukt. Inne i butikken som ikke er større enn en gjennomsnittlig 7 eleven er det bemannet kjøttdisk og delikatessedisk med hjemmelaget pesto, syltet paprika og ansjoser, masse skinker og pølser og selvsagt et stort utvalg ferskt brød. Det er lite sjokolade, potetgull og brus, men det er helt OK. Det trenger vi ikke. Så står jeg der da, i delikatessedisken og slår om meg med hva jeg tror de forskjellige tingene heter helt uten å kunne italiensk. Som regel går det bra, men det har vel hendt at jeg har fått noe jeg ikke helt visste hva var.

For å feire at ferien er i boks blir det en italiensk middag. I dag ble det penne arrabiata, eller sint penne som det visstnok betyr. Og sint, eller hissig skal denne retten være. Det sørger rikelige mengder med chili for. Akkurat hvor store mengder chili er jo opp til hver enkelt. Min erfaring er at den chilien man får kjøpt i butikken kan ha svært varierende styrke. Det kan derfor være greit å prøve seg litt frem. Ta en moderat mengde først og tilsett evt. mer dersom du synes smaken kan være sterkere. Denne gangen brukte jeg halvannen chili med frø og alt. Det ble akkurat passe sterkt, men det kan som sagt variere veldig fra gang til gang.

Ingredienser

  • 1/2 stor løk
  • 2 fedd hvitløk
  • 1 ts tørket oregano
  • 1-2 chili
  • 1 boks cherrytomater
  • olje til steking
  • basilikum til servering

Fremgangsmåte

  • Finhakk løk, hvitløk og chili.
  • Fres grønnsakene og oreganoen i olje et par minutter til løken er myk.
  • Tilsett cherrytomatene og la det småkoke i 10-15 minutter.
  • Mos tomatene ned i sausen med en sleiv og la sausen koke videre ved svak varme.
  • Kok opp pastaen som beskrevet på pakken.
  • Ta av et par øser kokevann og hell av pastaen i et dørslag.
  • Tynn sausen litt ut med pastavannet.
  • Bland inn pastaen og rør alt godt sammen.
  • Skjær basilikum i tynne strimler og dryss over rett før servering.

Server rykende varm og gjerne med parmesan til å drysse over. Vel bekomme.
