Gløgg hører julen og adventstiden til. Det er hyggelig å invitere folk som stikker innom på et glass varmende gløgg. Vanligvis er det den røde varianten som blir servert, men i det siste har det dukket opp andre varianter også. En del eplejuiceprodusenter selger ferdig eplegløgg på flaske. Dette er et ypperlig alkoholfritt alternativ. Det er jo ikke alle som kan eller vil drikke alkohol. Du kan også lage din egen epledrikk. En annen variant som har blitt mer og mer populær i det siste er hvit gløgg. Dette er en variant som ligner på den tradisjonelle røde gløggen, men er altså basert på hvitvin i stedet for rødvin.

Velg en vin som passer

Når du skal lage gløgg er det ikke om å gjøre å bruke den dyreste vinen, for å si det sånn. Gjem Sancerre og Chablien til en annen anledning. Det holder lenge å botanisere på nederste (rimeligste) hylle hos Polet. Bare sørg for å ikke velge en helt supertørr eller supersøt vin, så går det bra. Velg heller en som er litt på den tørre siden. Sødme kan jo lett tilsettes i etterkant.

Ingredienser

  • 1 flaske hvitvin
  • 3 ss sukker
  • 1/2 appelsin i skiver
  • 1/2 sitron i skiver
  • 4 stjerneanis
  • 10 grønne kardemommefrø
  • 5 pepperkorn
  • 1 kanelstang
  • en god klunk Cointreau eller Grand Marnier

Fremgangsmåte

  • Ha alle ingrediensene i en gryte og varm opp til ca. 80 grader
  • Senk temperaturen og la gløggen trekke i ca. 30 minutter
  • Sil gløggen og server med appelsinskiver og stjerneanis

Tips

Gløggen kan gjerne lages på forhånd og varmes opp når den skal serveres. Sil av krydrene først så ikke smaken blir for dominerende. Sukkeret kan byttes ut med honning eller annet søtningsmiddel om ønskelig. Vin har forskjellig søthet, så smak på gløggen og tilsett evt. mer sukker om du ønsker en søtere gløgg.
