Tidlgere i uken hadde jeg besøk av en venninne til lunsj. Det er så hyggelig å få besøk når man har hjemmekontor. Ekstra hyggelig var det denne gangen fordi det var lenge siden jeg hadde sett henne. Ute snødd og snødd det, så jeg hadde lyst til å servere noe som kan varme langt inn i beinmargen. Da er det lite som slår en varm suppe synes jeg. Derfor lagde jeg en deilige suppe av bakte tomater med focaccia ved siden av. Til dessert ble det en enkel appelsin og jordbærsalat med mynte som jeg serverte med en mynte og limekrem.

Nå er det jo appelsinsesong, og appelsinene er derfor supergode for tiden. Dessuten er vi nå inne i den mye kortere blodappelsinsesongen, og det må jo utnyttes. I denne salaten har jeg brukt en blanding av vanlig gule og de røde appelsinene. Å si at det er jordbærsesong nå, ville være å strekke det temmelig langt. Men de lå der i grønnsaksavdelingen og fristet meg, så de fikk bli med. I salaten kunne de i hvert fall bidra med litt farge, selv om jeg har fått mer smakfulle jordbær før altså.

For et par år siden bestemte Bama seg for å døpe om blodappelsiner til røde appelsiner. Tanken var vel at det gamle navnet var litt avskrekkende. Og kanskje var det det, for salget økte i hvert fall med det nye navnet. Det kan selvsagt også ha økt fordi de begynte å selge blodappelsinene i nett, slik at man må kjøpe flere av gangen. Uansett, så synes jeg det er litt synd at de endret navnet. Jeg har alltid vært fasinert av de røde appelsinene med det litt skumle navnet, men det har heller vært en del av attraksjonen, enn avskrekkende.

  • Skjær skallet av appelsinene og skjær dem deretter i skiver
  • Del jordbærene i mindre biter
  • Grovhakk mynten
  • Dander alt på en tallerken
  • Bland sammen alle ingrediensene til kremen og server den ved siden av appelsinsalaten.

Tips

Det er veldig godt å hakke litt nøtter å ha over også. Har du rester av brente mandler etter jul, er det supergodt.
