Det er fortsatt litt tidlig for de norske jordbærene, men nå begynner lysten og lengselen å bli så stor at de nederlandske får duge. Men disse utenlandske bærene kan ofte trenge litt hjelp for å komme helt til sin rett. Og når sant skal sies så kan de norske også det på ikke helt supre sommere. En måte å hjelpe dem på, er å lage jordbær marinert i appelsin. Det høres kanskje rart ut å marinere jordbærene, men tro meg det er skikkelig godt og løfter dem mange hakk.

Jeg har inntrykk av at dette er en ganske vanlig måte å servere jordbær på i Spania. Det var i hvert fall der jeg smakte dette første gang. Vi var på besøk hos en venninne som den gangen bodde utenfor Madrid. Etter en deilig middag sto altså slike jordbær på dessertmenyen.

Jordbær marinert i appelsin smaker deilig søtt og samtidg friskt. At det er få ingredienser og lite abeid involvert gjør jo ikke noe på en varm sommerdag. Bærene kan spises som de er,  men passer veldig godt sammen med sjokolade – for eksempel brownies. Eller sjokoladeis, eller vanlig is også når jeg tenker meg om. OK, bruk dem som vanlige jordbær. Gode er de uansett.

Ingredienser

  • 1 kurv jordbær
  • 1 appelsin, juicen av (ca. 1,5 dl)
  • 2 ts sukker

Fremgangsmåte

  • Rens jordbærene, og skjær dem i 1/2 cm tykke skiver
  • Legg dem i en bolle og dryss over sukker og hell over appelsinjuicen.
  • Sett i kjøleskapet i minst 1 time.
  • Smak om jordbærene er søte nok, hvis ikke tilsett litt mer sukker.

Server, og vel bekomme.
