Hva skriker vel mer sommer enn jordbær og is til dessert? Lite for mitt vedkommende, i hvert fall. Rømmeis med jordbær er en litt mer raffinert dessert, men slett ikke vanskelig å lage. Har du en iskremmaskin er det i hvert fall fort gjort. Har du ikke iskremmaskin, kan du fint lage isen allikevel, men da er det påkrevd litt røring underveis for å oppnå en kremet is uten iskrystaller.

Faktisk så har det seg slik at min far er så begeistret for denne desserten at vi hadde det hver eneste dag hele jordbærsesongen da jeg var barn. Fra de første litt sure jordbærene kom til de siste halvbløte bærene lå slapt i kurvene sine (heldigvis fantes det ikke importbær da). Dette resulterte i at jeg var møkklei jordbær med is i mange år. Heldigvis gikk aversjonen over og nå liker jeg det igjen, og særlig når det er noe litt mer enn vanlig vaniljeis/krokanis med jordbær. Og rømmeis med jordbær er definitivt i kategorien «noe mer».

Rømmeisen ble nemlig usedvanlig god. Konsistensen er fløyelsmyk og kremete. Smaken, den er litt syrlig men langt fra sur. Den smaker litt som rømmegrøt, men ikke helt for litt ekte vaniljesukker løftet smaken enda et hakk. Halvparten av jordbærene har jeg most litt med en gaffel og rørt inn litt sukker en liten stund før servering. Det gjør at jordbærene safter seg litt og blir deilig søte. Isen serverer jeg så med dette deilige jordbærsyltetøyet og resten av de hele jordbærene. Dette er sommerdessert det.

Ingredienser

  • 3 eggeplommer
  • 100 gr sukker
  • 2 ts vaniljesukker
  • 1 pakke Rødrosrømme (250 gr)
  • 2 dl helmelk
  • 1 kurv jordbær
  • 2 ts sukker

Fremgangsmåte

  • Pisk eggeplommer, sukker og vaniljesukker til det er lyst og luftig.
  • Bland inn rømme og melk.
  • Med iskremmaskin: Hell blandingen i iskremmaskinen og la den gå til isen er ferdig.
  • Uten iskremmaskin: Hell blandinen i en plastboks og sett i fryseren. Rør hver time inntil isen har fått softice konsistens.
  • Oppbevar isen i fryseren til den skal serveres.
  • Ta ut av fryseren 20 minutter før servering.
  • Rens jordbærene og mos halvparten av dem og rør inn sukkeret. La det stå i ca. 30 minutter så de safter seg.
  • Server isen med jordbærmosen og resten av jordbærene hele.
