Det er ikke hele året at man kan få tak i lammekjøttdeig, men nå finnes det i butikkene. Det i seg selv er en god grunn til å lage shepard’s pie. Har du ikke laget denne retten før, kan den absolutt anbefales. Her er det kjøttdeig og rotgrønnsaker under en deilig, luftig potetdyne. Dette er skikkelig kosemat, eller comfort food som de kaller det i USA.

Ingredienser

  • 400 gr lammekjøttdeig
  • olje til steking
  • 1 liten løk
  • 2 fedd hvitløk
  • 2 gulrøtter
  • 1/4 sellerirot
  • 2 ts soyasaus
  • 1 ts Worcestershire saus
  • 2 dl oksebuljong
  • 800 gr melne poteter
  • 2 dl melk
  • 2 ss smør

Fremgangsmåte

  • Forvarm ovnen til 200 grader.
  • Skrell og kok potetene møre.
  • Mens potetene koker, rens og riv grønnsakene på den grove siden av rivjernet.
  • Stek lammedeigen til den har blitt pent brun.
  • Tilsett grønnsakene og la det surre i ca. 5 minutter.
  • Ha oppi buljong, soyasaus og Worcestershire saus.
  • La det koke til det meste av vannet er fordampet.
  • Hell kokevannet av potetene og mos dem. Tilsett melk og smør og rør godt. Smak til med salt og pepper.
  • Fordel kjøttet i fire ildfaste porsjonsformer, eller ha alt i en stor ildfast form.
  • Legg potetmosen oppå og klapp ut slik at den dekker kjøttet.
  • Stek i ovnen i ca. 20 minutter til alt er boblende varmt og potetstappen har fått farge.

Du kan også bruke vanlig kjøttdeig om du ikke får tak i lammekjøttdeig Det går fint an å lage disse på forhånd og bare steke rett før de skal serveres.
