For en liten stund siden skrev jeg om hva jeg brukte glasseplene i hagen til. De ble nemlig til eplemos, og en riktig så god en må jeg nesten få lov til å si. I den posten skrev jeg også at jeg har flere epler og plommer i hagen også. I år har vi riktig mange plommer. En av de beste måtene å bruke plommer på synes jeg, er å spise dem slik de er, rett fra treet. Men det monner liksom ikke når plommene henger i klaser og likner på forvokste druer. Da må det andre metoder til, selv om jeg gjerne inviterer venner og familie til å plukke litt.

I dag hadde vi plommegrøt til dessert. Det monner kanskje ikke så mye, men jeg liker å spise årstidens mat. Og nå er det definitivt plommer som er i sesong. Tidligere år har vi ikke hatt så mange plommer så dette er en ny problemstilling for meg. Jeg har faktisk aldri laget noe av plommene tidligere. Men inspirert av en artikkel i D2 om plommer bestemte jeg meg for å lage en plommegrøt til dessert. Plommene våre er blå med gult fruktkjøtt. Stor var derfor min overraskelse da plommegrøten jeg var i ferd med å lage fikk en aldeles nydelig bringebærrød farge. Dette var virkelig en bonus for jeg trodde fargen skulle bli litt gusjete.

Jeg hadde sett for meg en ganske plundrete jobb med å få steinene ut av plommene. Men det gikk nokså smertefritt. Det skyltes nok i stor grad at jeg hadde valgt ut godt modne plommer. Ikke sånn å forstå at det ikke tok tid, for det gjør det jo når alle plommene skal skjæres i to og steinen vippes ut eller i verst fall pirkes ut med en kniv. Men altså, det gikk lettere enn jeg trodde.

I denne oppskriften har jeg brukt 150 gr sukker. Men som med all bær og frukt må sukkerinnholdet anpasses fruktens søthet. Smak derfor på grøten og juster evt. med mer sukker dersom den blir veldig syrlig.

Ingredienser

  • 1 kg plommer
  • 150 gr. sukker
  • 1/2 vaniljestang
  • 1/2 dl vann
  • 2 ts potetmel

Fremgangsmåte

  • Vask plommene og ta ut steinene og legg dem i en gryte.
  • Del vaniljestangen i to på langs og skrap ut frøene. Ha dem oppi gryten sammen med resten av ingrediensene unntatt potetmelet.
  • Kok det på lav varme til plommene har blitt myke og begynner å få i oppløsning.
  • Rør potetmelet ut i litt vann.
  • Trekk gryten av varmen og hell potetmelblandingen i den varme grøten i en tynn stråle mens du rører.
  • Sett gryten tilbake på ovnen og la den få et kort oppkok.
  • Ta gryten av varmen og hell grøten i en serveringsbolle.
  • La den stå å avkjøle seg slik at den er romtemperert ved servering.

Server med fløte og evt. et lett sukkerdryss om det skulle føles nødvendig.

Kjempegod oppskrift!
Et lite tips; jeg koker alt opp og etterhvert dom plommene slepper steinene plukker jeg de opp med ei hullsleiv. Sparer mye tid og alt blir enklere😀

Det skal jeg jommen prøve til neste år. I år hadde vi omtrent 10 plommer på treet – og de fikk fuglene tak i før oss.
