AUGUST – og nå flommer det over av squash hos de som har en squashplante eller flere i hagen. Det kan være en utfordring å få spist opp alle sammen har jeg forstått. Dette til tross for at squash har en svært mild smak og kan brukes i mange sammenhenger. Som alltid vil jeg jo gjerne være hjelpsom, og derfor har jeg samlet mine 5 beste oppskrifter med squash her.

Dette er en skikkelig enkel og mettende hverdagsmiddag, som er forholdssvis rask å lage og faller i smak hos de aller fleste.

Denne sydfranske klassikeren  slår aldri feil. Og når du først er i gang med å lage, kan du like gjerne lage en stor porsjon, for ikke bare kan du servere den til middagen, men restene er like gode dagen etter og kan brukes i en couscous-salat, eller som base for en suppe, eller…

Tørre sjokoladekaker er skikkelig kjedelig, og denne er alt annet enn tørr. Det kan jeg love deg. I denne kaken fungerer squashen på samme måte som gulrot gjør i gulrotkake. Du smaker den med andre ord ikke, men den har definitivt sin funksjon.

Spis denne sammen med grillmaten, sammen med kjøtt, fugl eller fisk eller som en selvstendig rett. Sammen med gode venner er squash absolutt verdt et måltid og parmesan og ris er gode venner. Det kan jeg skrive under på.

 

Dette var altså mine 5 beste oppskrifter med squash, og som du skjønner kan squash brukes til så mye, både saltmat og søtmat. Fordi den har en så mild smak og en litt svampete konsistens er den super å bruke i gryteretter også, for den tar til seg andre smaker. som den kokes sammen med.

 

Fun fact

Squash høstes og spises faktisk før den er moden. Får den vokse seg ferdig, kan den bli opptil en meter.
