Vi spiser alltid grøt til formiddagsmat på julaften, og jeg tror ikke vi er de eneste som spiser julegrøt akkurat da. Og for meg begynner julen for alvor når grøten kommer på bordet. Julegrøt hjemme hos oss er risengrynsgrøt kokt med litt vanilje. Da blir den ekstra god, synes jeg.

Formiddagen på julaften er alltid litt travel. Det er kanskje en pakke som skal pakkes inn i siste liten, eller en skjorte som skal strykes. Dessuten er det jo Askepott på TV og mange andre tradisjoner som skal overholdes. Derfor har jeg begynt å lage julegrøten i ovnen. Da slipper jeg å stå og røre i gryten hele tiden – den passer seg rett og slett selv, og så er jeg sikker på at den ikke svir seg i bunnen. Det er som en moderne variant av den gode, gamle dynegrøten.

Når vi lager grøten, lager vi alltid for mye grøt. Da har vi til riskrem senere i julen også.

Ingredienser

  • 4,5 dl grøtris
  • 2,7 l melk
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1 vaniljestang
  • rosiner
  • sukker
  • kanel
  • smør

Fremgangsmåte

 

  • Sett ovnen på 130 grader.
  • Ha melk, ris og salt i en gryte.
  • Splitt vaniljestangen i to og skrap ut frøene.
  • Ha både vaniljestang og frø oppi sammen med resten.
  • Kok opp under stadig omrøring.
  • Settes hele gryten med lokk inn i ovnen.
  • La grøten koke ferdig i ca. 35 minutter. Rør et par ganger.

Server med rosiner, kanel, sukker og en god smørklatt.

Tips

Sett restene i kjøleskapet og lag riskrem senere i julen.
