Like før sommerferien ble sønnen til kusinen min tre år. Han er også mitt fadderbarn, så jeg måtte selvsagt gi ham en bursdagsgave. Jeg hadde kjøpt fotballtrøye og shorts til ham, og dro innom på selve bursdagen. Fotballantrekket falt i smak, så da var jo alt i sin skjønneste orden. Kusinen min var i full sving med å lage pizza, og lurte på om ikke jeg ville bli til middag. Det kunne jeg ikke, men nysgjerrig som jeg er, måtte jeg ta meg en tur bort til kjøkkenbenken og hvordan hun gjorde det. Det som fanget min oppmerksomhet var pizzasausen. Den sto kald på benken i et litermål- Og ikke kald fordi det var lenge siden den hadde blitt laget og var nå blitt kald, men kald fordi den aldri hadde vært varm. Den måtte jeg smake på, og den var kjempegod. Den hadde (selvfølgelig) en helt annen friskhet enn de pizzasausen jeg pleier å lage. Jeg ble hekta med en gang.

Jeg kikket på oppskriften i oppskriftsheftet hennes, men skrev ingenting ned, så oppskriften nedenfor er ut fra min hukommelse. Oppskriften er visst egentlig fra Jan Vardøen, men jeg synes det er mye hyggeligere å tenke på at det Idas saus. Kjenner du til denne pizzasausen fra før, og min gjengivelse ikke er helt korrekt, kommer det altså av at jeg har laget den etter hukommelsen og smaken.

Som enda et lykketreff, har det senere vist seg at sausen er veldig god til andre ting også. Den kan fint brukes som saus på pasta og til stekt fisk. På omeletten er den slett ikke så dum heller. Og sist men ikke minst – den er kjempeenkel å lage. Så enkel at det nesten ikke trengs en fremgangsmåte til ingrediensene.

  • 1 fedd hvitløk
  • 1 ts honning
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • nykvernet pepper
  • 2 ss olivenolje
  • 1 neve basilikumblader

Fremgangsmåte

  • Ha alt i en beholder og kjør det til en jevn saus med stavmixeren. Voila! Sausen er ferdig.

La den gjerne stå litt før den skal brukes slik at smakene får satt seg litt.
