En chiligryte passer veldig godt på grå og kalde høstdager. Den inneholder nok chili til å få varmen opp i en litt frossen skrott, og den har nok bønner og søtpoteter til at den metter godt.

Jeg innser at ingredienslisten ser ut som et langt år. Men det aller meste er ting de fleste har i kjøkkenskapet sitt allerede, som salt, pepper, sukker, eddik, og mange av krydderne. Eller som i hvert fall finnes i enhver dagligvarebutikk.

Jeg bruker røkt paprika. Har du ikke det, går det fint an å bruke vanlig paprikapulver, men da får du ikke den røksmaken. Får du tak i chipotle chili er det et vel så godt alternativ.

Ingredienser

  • 1 liten løk
  • 2 fedd hvitløk
  • olje til steking
  • 1 ts røkt paprika
  • 1 ts spisskummen
  • 1 ts chilipulver
  • 1 ts hvitløkpulver
  • 1/2 ts pepper
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1/2 ts sukker
  • 1 ts rødvinseddik
  • 1 boks kidneybønner
  • 2 bokser tomater
  • 1 rød chili (kan sløyfes)
  • 2 store søtpoteter
  • --
  • avokado
  • rømme

Fremgangsmåte

  • Finhakk løk og hvitløk og fres det i olje til det blir myk og blankt.
  • Tilsett alle krydderne og la dem surre et par minutter.
  • Ha oppi bønnene og knus dem så godt du kan i krydderblandingn.
  • Hell oppi de to tomatboksene og la det koke på lav varme under lokk i en halv time.
  • Imens skjær søtoptetene opp i litt store terninger.
  • Tilsett søtpotetene og evt. litt vann om sausen ser litt tørr ut. Den skal ikke være tyktflytende.
  • Smak til med salt, pepper, sukker og rødvinseddik og la det koke til søtpotetene er helt møre.

Server med kokt ris, avokado og en klatt rømme til. Vel bekomme.

Tips

Det ser kanskje ut som om det er veldig mye chili i denne retten, men den ble sånn middels hot. Dersom du ønsker en hottere, eller mild chiligryte kan du selvsagt justere mengden chili etter smak og behag.
