Det er ikke så ofte at jeg får nye kakefavoritter. Det henger kanskje sammen med at jeg ikke er noen stor kakeperson. Favorittene er og blir berlinerkranser med den deilige smørsmaken. Men jeg må si at disse brune pinnene kommer temmelig høyt opp på listen over gode julekaker. Dermed har de greid det kunststykket det er å komme inn på den eksklusive listen over julekaker som blir produsert her i huset. Og det er langt fra syv sorter for å si det sånn. Kakene fikk jeg første gang for et par år siden i et møte i januar, der jeg mistenker at planen var å få spist opp restene av julekakene. Men det gjorde ingen ting, for jeg fant en ny favoritt. Vel hjemme måtte jeg google kakene med det lite markedføringsvennlige navnet «brune pinner».

Jeg fant en oppskrift på Trines matblogg, og det er den som er gjengitt nedenfor. Nå har jeg laget dem et par år og oppskriften er lett å følge og resultatet blir veldig godt.

Ingredienser

  • 200 g sukker
  • 200 g smør
  • 1 eggeplomme
  • 1 ss sirup
  • 300 g hvetemel
  • 1 ts kanel
  • 1 ts natron
  • 1 ts vaniljesukker
  • --
  • 1 eggehvite
  • mandler, finhakket
  • perlesukker

Fremgangsmåte

Oppskriften gir ca. 60 kaker

  • Pisk sukker og smør hvitt. Bruk gjerne en kjøkkenmaskin om du har.
  • Tilsett eggeplommen og sirupen og rør godt.
  • Bland hvetemel, kanel, natron og vaniljesukker sammen og ha det oppi det våte.
  • Rør alt sammen og samle det til en klump. Legg deigen  plastfolie i kjøleskapet i ca. en halv time.
  • Sett ovnen på 180 grader, og kle to stekebrett med bakepapir.
  • Del deigen i fire emner og rull ut til fire stykker som er like lange som stekeplaten og ca. 10 cm brede.
  • Pensle deigen med eggehvite og strø på finhakkede mandler og perlesukker.
  • Stek i ca. 10 minutter til kakene har fått fin brunfarge.
  • Ta ut og la kakene kjøle seg ned et par minutter før de skjæres i tynne strimler på skrå.
  • Avkjøl helt på rist og legg deretter i en kakeboks og forsøk å la det bli noen igjen til jul.
