Jeg er ikke noen stor kakeperson. Får jeg valget synes jeg ofte det er bedre med et par småkaker, eller kjeks enn et digert kakestykke. Chocolate chip cookies har vært en favoritt helt fra barndommen. Da var det synonymt med Maryland cookies i en pakke fra butikken. Lite visste jeg at det gikk an å bake disse småkakene selv. Småkaker var stort sett noe som ble laget til jul hjemme hos oss, og chocolate chip cookies var ikke blant de syv slagene for å si det sånn.  I dag er det annerledes, selv om det ikke akkurat er kjeks i heimen til en hver tid, er det i hvert fall litt oftere enn en gang i året. Skal jeg lage kjeks, velger jeg ofte å lage biscotti eller chocolate chip cookies. Denne gangen gikk jeg for dobbel chocolate chip cookies. Dobbel fordi jeg har kakao i deigen slik at selve kjeksen blir en sjokoldekjeks og så er det selvfølgelig sjokoladebitene i tillegg.

Ingredienser

  • 115 gr smør
  • 100 gr hvitt sukker
  • 120 gr brunt sukker
  • 1 egg
  • ½ ts natron
  • 175 gr hvetemel
  • 20 gr kakao
  • 150 gr melkesjokolade
  • 100 gr valnøtter

Fremgangsmåte

Denne oppskriften gir omtrent 20 ganske store cookies.

  • Begynn med å ta smøret ut av kjøleskapet – det skal være romtemperert.
  • Rist nøttene i en stekepanne til de har blitt varme og det begynner å lukte nøtter i rommet. Ta dem av varmen.
  • Sett ovnen på 150 grader.
  • Hakk sjokolade og nøtter og sett til side.
  • Rør smør og sukker til det blir helt uten klumper og luftig.
  • Rør inn egg og natron.
  • Rør inn hvetemel og kakao og rør til alt er godt blandet.
  • Ha oppi hakket sjokolade og nøtter og bland godt.
  • Del deigen i ca. 20 like store klumper. Har du en sånn isskje er den en akkurat passe størrelse. Ellers deler du bare deigen i 20 like store deler.
  • Legg dem på bakebrett med god avstand mellom. 10 stk. på ett brett er fint.
  • Stek kjeksene høyt i ovnen i 16-18 minutter.
  • La dem avkjøle seg litt på bakebrettet før de løftes over på en bakerist for å bli helt kalde.

Oppbevares i en kakeboks, om det blir noen igjen, da 🙂
