Usedvanlig godt sommervær allerede i mai, gir håp om en lang og god sommer. Og sammen med sommer hører iskrem. Aller best er det med hjemmelaget is. Igjen har jeg latt meg inspirere av urtene i hagen, og denne gangen er det peppermynten jeg har brukt. Sammen med sjokoladesausen ble dette rene after eight is-desserten. Og det kan jeg bare si med en gang; peppermynteis med sjokoladesaus er en sikker vinner. Skikkelig godt ble det. Og for de som bryr seg om sånn, så kommer altså peppermyntesmaken kun fra urter. Det ble sterk nok peppermyntesmak allikevel.

Da jeg lagde denne isen, lot jeg peppermyntebladene trekke i fløten over natten for å gi smak til fløten. Meningen var å ta ut bladene før jeg lagde fløten. Men jeg synes ikke smaken var sterk nok, så jeg lot bladene følge med i fløten. I stedet for å piske fløten med mixmaster brukte jeg en stavmixer som samtidig kuttet opp bladene. Neste gang jeg lager denne isen, tror jeg at jeg vil sile fløten og kjøre peppermyntebladene sammen med melken i en blender slik at de blir helt finmalte. Det gjorde ingen ting med små bladbiter i isen, men neste gang tror jeg altså at jeg vil prøv å kjøre dem til «ingenting».

Ingredienser

  • 10 gr. peppermynteblader
  • 2 dl kremfløte
  • 3 eggeplommer
  • 100 gr sukker
  • 2,5 dl h-melk
  • --
  • 1 plate mørk kokesjokolade
  • 1 dl kremfløte

Fremgangsmåte

  • Plukk peppermyntebladene av stilkene og legg dem oppi fløten og la det stå natten over.
  • Dagen etter. Pisk eggeplommer og sukker luftige.
  • Rør inn melken
  • Kjør fløten og peppermynten med en stavmixer til fløten har blitt til en slapp krem og bladene er kuttet opp i småbiter.
  • Bland eggeblandingen og kremen og hell i en iskremmaskin. Kjør til isen har blitt kald og server straks, eller frys ned til senere.
  • Dersom du ikke har iskremmaskin, kan du helle isen i en plastboks som du setter i fryseren. Da må du røre i isen med jevne mellomrom (kanskje hver halvtime) inntil isen har fått iskremkonsistens.
  • Før servering: Smelt sjokoladen kremfløten. Rør så sausen blir helt jevn. Avkjøl sausen litt før du serverer.

Tips

Det går fint å bruke vanlig mynte også,. Bruk samme fremgangsmåte, men det er mulig du må justere mengden urter. For peppermynten er veldig sterk på smak.
