Denne kaken har vært en del av mitt faste repertoar de siste nesten 30 årene, men av ukjent grunn har den aldri funnet veien inn på bloggen min. Det gjør jeg noe med i dag, så her kommer altså oppskriften på min gulrotkake. Jeg tror dette er en temmelig standard oppskrift, men den er veldig god og en skikkelig crowdpleaser. Om det er på grunn av at den er så saftig og holder seg lenge, kanelsmaken eller om det rett og slett er ostekremen på toppen som gjør den så populær vet ikke jeg. Men den er i hvert fall veldig god, og ikke minst enkel å lage. Jeg har aldri mislykkes med denne kaken. Og det har jeg for å være ærlig gjort med en hel del andre kaker fra tid til annen.

Som du ser av bildet er jeg ikke verdensmester i kakepynting, men det får så være. Det er jo smaken som teller, eller hva? Er du god til å pynte kaker, så kan du gjøre det i trygg forvissing om at kaken også vil smake godt, ikke bare se smashing ut. For det er det kjipeste jeg vet når kaker ser skikkelig flotte ut, og så lever ikke smaken opp til forventningen.

Dette er den eneste oppskriften på bloggen der målene er oppgitt i kopper. Har du et desilitermål som også viser kopper, er det jo enkelt. Hvis ikke er en kopp ca. 2,5 dl.

Ingredienser

  • 4 egg
  • 2 kopper sukker
  • 2 kopper hvetemel
  • 2 ts natron
  • 1 ts salt
  • 1 ts kanel
  • 1 kopp rapsolje
  • 3 kopper revne gulrøtter
  • 170 gr fløteost
  • 2 ts vaniljesukker
  • 100 gr smør, romtemperert
  • 250 gr melis

Fremgangsmåte

  • Pisk egg og sukker til en luftig eggedosis.
  • Bland hvetemel, salt, natron og kanel og sikt det inn i eggedosisen.
  • Bland forsiktig.
  • Tilsett gulrøtter og olje vekselvis og rør forsiktig mellom hver gang.
  • Hell røren i en smurt rund form med bakepapir i bunnen.
  • Stek midt i ovnen på 190 grader i ca. 1 time.
  • Avkjøl på rist.
  • Rør fløteost og smør til en jevn masse og sikt inn melis og vaniljesukker.
  • Del kaken i to, og smør halvparten utover det første laget.
  • Legg på toppen av kaken og bre resten av kremen over toppen kaken. Pynt gjerne med litt revne gulrøtter.

Tips

Oppskriften nedenfor er til en stor rund kake, men ganger du oppskriften med 2 blir det en høy og fin langpannekake.
