Da jeg var i begynnelsen av 20-årene bodde jeg et halvt år i New Delhi. Da ble jeg kjent med den indiske drikkenlassi og falt pladask. Dette var før smoothies var på kartet og milk shake var det eneste som lignet. Men dette var noe annet. Den ble servert i høye glass og var herlig avkjølende i den ekstreme varmen. Noen ganger var den salt og andre ganger var den søt av mango. Av de to variantene likt jeg best mango lassi, og den dukker opp her hjemme med ujevne mellomrom.

Mango lassi er veldig enkelt å lage om du har en blender. Alle ingrediensene has bare oppi og kjøres til en glatt masse. Best blir denne lassien dersom man bruker pakistanske mango som er i sesong akkurat nå. Det går selvsagt an å bruke de vanlige mangoene de har på super’n. Men de er av en annen type og har en litt anderledes smak. Vel, okke som, godt blir det uansett. Så er det bare å håpe på litt skikkelig varme…

  • 2 pakistanske mango
  • 2 dl yoghurt naturell
  • 1 dl vann
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1 kryddermål kardemomme (valgfritt)
  • 8 isbiter

Fremgangsmåte

  • Rens mangoene og skjær fuktkjøttet opp i biter.
  • Ha alle ingrediensene i en blender og kjør til det er helt jevnt.
