Dette er ikke akkurat rakettforskning eller molekylær gastronomi på høyt nivå, men det er jo veldig hyggelig å pynte på tallerkenen med vakkert tilbehør som til og med ikke bare er spiselig men riktig velsmakende. Jeg synes løkblomster ser ut som chrystantemum og man skulle derfor kanskje tro at de er kompliserte å lage. Det er lett som en plett. Det er veldig enkle og krever nesten ikke noen innsats utover et par minutter pluss tid i ovnen, da.

Jeg får nesten litt assosiasjoner til mat på litt eksklusive asiatiske restauranter som presenterer de flotteste kunstverk skåret ut av frukt og grønnsaker. Kravet til knivferdighetene er imidlertid i dette tilfellet særdeles lave. Fire snitt i hver løk og voila – du har de vakreste løkblomster.

Ingredienser

  • 4 mellomstore rødløk
  • litt olivenolje
  • salt
  • (hvit) balsamico

Fremgangsmåte

  • Sett ovnen på 200 grader.
  • Skrell løkene og trim litt av rotfeste, slik at de står støtt.
  • Skjær fire snitt i hver løk nesten ned til bunnen, men pass på at de henger sammen. Skjær først et kors og deretter et kryss slik at du får åtte segmenter.
  • Legg løkene i et ildfast fat og hell litt olivenolje og dryss litt salt over hver løk.
  • Dekk formen med aluminiumsfolie og bak løkene i ca. 20 minutter.
  • Ta av folien og stek i ytterligere 10 minutter. Nå skal løken være helt myk og folder seg ut.
  • Drypp over balsamico og server.
