Innkjøp er den første delen av  matlagingen.

Jeg har vært så heldig at jeg var på høstferie i Italia, og en av formiddagene ble tilbragt på Campo di Fiori. Her finner et av byens markeder sted hver dag unntatt søndager. Riktignok er det en større del av torget som er rigget for turister, men det er fortsatt grønnsaksboder som dekker lokale romeres behov for friske råvarer. Å slentre mellom bodene og se på utstillingene av frukt og grønt er en vidunderlig. Her er det stabler på stabler med flotte grønnsaker lagt pent frem slik at det virkelig er fristende å kjøpe sesongens ferske råvarer. Når jeg så alle disse deiligheten forstår jeg godt utsagnet om at innkjøp er den første delen av matlagingen. Det er helt umulig å ikke bli inspirert! Som følge til dette sitatet har jeg valgt italiensk byggrynssuppe. Vel bekomme
